The Selene Handbag is the newest pattern from Bagstock designs that was released this past week. It is a fairly easy bag to make and goes together quickly. It has a generous exterior zippered pocket as well as an interior zippered pocket along with two slip pockets. The pattern gives you the option of having two short or long handles and there is also an optional shoulder strap.
This is a great bag for beginner to intermediate sewers that will help build your bag making skills. The pattern can be purchased from the Bagstock Designs website at: www.bagstockdesigns.com. I have used marine vinyl along with 100% cotton quilting fabric for the exterior and water proof canvas for my linings. For interfacings, I used WovenFuse 2, Pellon Flex Foam and Pellon Peltex. I sew the bag with my Sailrite Fabricator industrial walking foot sewing machine, but this bag can be made on a domestic machine depending on the fabrics and interfacings you choose.
I have a step-by-step YouTube tutorial on how to construct the bag.
